Volunteering for Environmental Fund for Maryland is a great way to meet
people, have fun, and give back to the environmental community of Maryland.
Environmental Fund for Maryland and its member groups depend on volunteers
to support our programs and activities. If you are interested in volunteering
periodically for the environmental community, fill out our Online
Volunteer Form This information will give us a profile of your interests
to match with specific volunteer needs.
Behind-the-scenes volunteer
activities:
ACCESS:
Recruit businesses to get involved with EFM through employee giving
campaigns.
CAMPAIGNS:
Represent EFM at fall workplace charity rallies - make presentations.
FRIENDS NETWORK:
Promote EFM during your workplace giving campaign - distribute materials
- hang posters - send emails - etc.
SPECIAL EVENTS:
Help coordinate and staff events such as fundraisers - etc.
MARKETING: Write press releases and newsletter articles - design materials
and assist with media outreach.
FUNDRAISING:
Proposal writing and research. Solicit donations for annual fundraising
events.
ADMINISTRATIVE:
Data entry - mailings - answering phones - filing - library management
In-the-field volunteer activities:
CHESAPEAKE BAY RESTORATION: Grow and restore underwater grasses - Plant
trees Oyster gardening Storm drain stenciling Restore
Wetlands Plant marsh grasses Stream monitoring.
WORK PARTIES:
Assist with plant/animal surveys - trail maintenance - stream bank restoration
- general cleanups
LEADERS:
Participate in a workshop - Lobby your legislators Speak out!!!
and educate others Join an On-line Action Network - Field trip
