Bone Wars: A Quarry Digging Competition is a quarry dig event taking place before museum hours that invites guests to become a part of the legendary showdown between two historic fossil hunters. Guests will be split into two teams and participate in an hour-long, hands-on digging competition in the quarry. Guests on Team Cope and Team Marsh will compete to uncover and identify as many fossils as possible. Some of the cast from the upcoming off-Broadway show, Bone Wars: A New Musical, will also be present at the digging competition dressed up as Edward Drinker Cope and Othniel Charles Marsh to support their teams. After the competition has ended, guests will be invited to the Veranda for coffee service and snacks. Breakfast and additional coffee will be available for purchase at the cafe.
More about Bone Wars: The Musical! Bone Wars is a bold new musical comedy inspired by the unbelievable true story of Gilded Age paleontologists O.C. Marsh and Edward Drinker Cope. Their fierce rivalry led them to discover thousands of fossils, but their obsessive hatred destroyed them both. Now, more than a century after their deaths, a jury of dinosaurs will settle their historic feud — allowing one man to remain in the afterlife, and banishing the other to extinction.
Bone Wars has been awarded a self-produced residency at the historic Players Theatre in Greenwich Village, where it will run from June 18 - July 26, 2026. Get your tickets to the off broadway show here at bonewarsthemusical.com
