Membership FAQ

  • How do I purchase a Membership?


    1. You can purchase memberships through this link. After selecting your Membership type and filling out the Member details, you can finalize your purchase. Please make sure to use a valid email address when purchasing a Membership as this will be used to access your Member ID.

  • How do I redeem my free premium experiences? Can I make a reservation in advance of my visit to ensure my preferred time slot?


    1. You can redeem your premium experiences online here.

  • Is my Membership discount valid on gift cards?


    1. No, the discount is not valid for the purchase of gift cards.

  • What if I lose or forget my Membership Card?


    1. Your experience is always better when you bring your Membership card, but we can look you up in our system if you were to forget your card. If you lose your Membership card, a new one will have to be issued. The first replacement is free, any subsequent lost card replacements will be at a cost of $5. 

  • Can I gift a Membership?


    1. Yes you can! Visit our Gift a Membership page to give the gift of EFM.

  • What if everyone in my group is not there to redeem their memberships at the same time?


    1. All Memberships are active one year from purchase date, but can be redeemed at any time.

  • Can I change my family membership to a new membership before it expires?


    1. Yes, you can change to a new membership by visiting the Member services desk located on the lower floor of the museum.

  • When does my Membership start?


    1. Your year-long Membership begins on the day of purchase.

  • How can I access my Membership?

  • When are member bring a friend days? How many friends can I bring?


    1. Member Bring-A-Friend Days will be announced by email at a later date, but you will be permitted to bring one friend per Membership in your party!

  • What are Premium Experiences?


    1. Premium experiences include the Expedition Voyager Virtual Reality (56” height requirement) and the Quarry Dig Experience. Silver members may choose one premium experience, while Gold members can select either one of each or two of the same experience (two Quarry Digs or two VR experiences).

  • Do members get discounts on Premium Experiences?


    1. Yes - some membership levels include premium experience discounts while others include FREE premium experiences per year! You can see all the membership benefits here.

  • Is my Membership card also my Explorer Key?


    1. Yes! In addition to providing you with access to the museum and all your benefits, your membership card also serves as your Explorer Key for interacting around the museum.

  • Do Members have to reserve tickets?


    1. Nope! Members no longer need to make reservations to visit the museum. However, we recommend booking Quarry or VR experiences in advance, as these can sell out quickly.

  • Can I buy multiple Memberships at a time?


    1. Yes!

  • What is the Act Now Library listed in the benefits? How do I utilize this library?


    1. The Act Now Library is a hands-on learning resource collection dedicated to empowering its members into real-world action. Instead of checking out books, visitors can borrow science and sustainability kits focused on topics like biodiversity, light pollution, local wildlife and so much more. Each kit includes tools, guides, and simple activities that encourage observation, data collection, and participation in citizen science projects, many of which connect to platforms like SciStarter. The goal of the Act Now Library is to help members see themselves as change makers and advocates for science, showing that small, achievable actions, taken at home and in the community, can collectively make a meaningful impact.   • Does everyone in my family have to get the same membership type?


    1. All of our memberships are individual memberships, so each person in your family can get a different level, each with their own, individual benefits.


  • Do you offer Corporate Memberships?


    1. Yes we do! For more information on Corporate Memberships visit here.

  • How do I get my Membership Card?


    1. To get your membership card, see an Explorer Guide upon your first visit. They will direct you to Member Services where you will get your member cards set up with your name, member number and photo.

  • Is the membership good for only the person pictured on the back? E.g. What if I purchase a membership for myself and my child, can a grandparent or babysitter use my membership card?


    1. The Membership is for the named person on the card only and is not transferable to others. If you have the Silver or Gold Membership you can bring a guest for just $20 by using your Membership number at check out.


  • Is my Membership tax-deductible?


    1. EFM Memberships are not tax-deductible.

  • Does my family Membership get me any new discounts?


    1. Yes! We are so grateful for your support that we would like to offer a 10% discount for all Members at the cafe and museum store. Please have your Membership number or Membership email confirmation ready at checkout!

  • What does this mean for my current membership?


    1. Your current membership will stay active through your expiration date, and as an added bonus you no longer need to make a reservation for admission ahead of time!


  • Do children need Memberships?


    1. We offer both adult and child memberships. Child memberships are for ages 3–12. Guests 2 and under are free and do not need a membership.


  • Do you offer physical Membership cards?


    1. Yes! Our new 2026 memberships now come with membership cards for each level - Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Child memberships will receive their own special Junior Membership cards.These cards also serve as your Explorer Key, letting you interact with exhibits and track your experience throughout the museum. Your membership information and photo will be printed on the back, and you’ll need to present your card to receive any in-museum discounts.


    3. You can pick up your card at the front desk of the Edelman Fossil Park & Museum after purchasing your membership.
