Welcome to Citizen Science - a free, hands-on program where visitors of all ages can take part in real scientific research. These sessions spotlight a unique citizen science project each month. Guests can explore new tools, contribute data, and connect with both local and global scientific efforts.
UPCOMING EVENTS:
Monarch Larva Monitoring
Sunday, July 26th
The monarch butterflies have returned from Mexico for the summer season. With the Monarch Larva Monitoring Project through Monarch Joint Venture, we can help scientists learn more about monarch distribution and populations. Join us for Citizen Science Sunday and help us count the monarch caterpillars on museum property; then take that knowledge home and count up the monarchs on milkweed around your own house!
FathomVerse
Sunday, August 30th
We’re celebrating all things ocean this month at Edelman Fossil Park and Museum. Join us for Citizen Science Sunday to play FathomVerse, a phone app game that lets you contribute to real ocean science. Explore new-to-science photos of ocean creatures and help identify and explore the vast biodiversity our seas have to offer!
