What Did Dinosaurs Really Look Like? A Talk with Tess Gallagher
Many believe that we will never know what dinosaurs looked like, but in truth, hundreds of fossilized skin from dinosaurs have been discovered, providing a glimpse into the living past. Tess Gallagher's discovery and research of Diplodocus skin completely changed our understanding of how these long-necked animals looked. Dinosaurs like Brontosaurus and its kin were not covered in leathery elephant skin as is popularly depicted in movies and TV, but instead were highly textured and scaly like crocodiles. In this talk, Tess Gallagher will tell you what Diplodocus looked like and discuss the science of dinosaur color patterning.
