Step into the science of the wild with Ecotrail Adventure - a guided nature walk across our garden, meadow, forest, and stream.

While the museum building will be closed during this early access experience, guests should arrive at the veranda to begin exploring promptly at 9:00 AM. Be prepared for a bit of a hike! This adventure includes plenty of walking and some moderate hills through our wooded trail, so comfortable shoes and water are a must.

The adventure begins in our educational garden, where you’ll explore frog houses, bug hotels, and the importance of creating habitats right in your own backyard. With our expert VEX guides leading the way, you’ll explore the living systems that thrive in our meadow and forest, learning to identify the bugs, birds, and plants that call them home. The walk concludes at the creek, where we’ll explore stream ecology, water quality, and why even the smallest waterways matter.
